Pulp and paper industry developments are integrated by growing in mineral fillers consuming. However, increase of filler percentages in paper along with its benefits for the paper, causing reduction in its strengths. In this study, effect of different levels of ground calcium carbonate and clay fillers based on fibers dry weight was investigated on mechanical and optical properties made from pulp mixture of hardwood CMP (70%) and imported bleached long fibers (30%). Results revealed that, by increasing in calcium carbonate filler consuming amount rather than clay, paper properties such as brightness is improved and have less negative effects. Thus, printability properties of GCC filled papers have been improved in comparison of clay filled papers.
