Abstract
In this research , the effect of dual retention system , poly ethylene imin plus anionic poly acryl amid and in three level of these chemical consumption(low, medium and high) on pulp drainage , filler retention and also newsprint hand sheet structural, strength and optical properties was investigated and was compared with control samples(the samples that used single retention aid system, cationic poly acryl amid). The results showed that in comparison with control samples, the applying of dual retention system, have significant effects on newsprint pulp and paper properties and the positive or negative effects of dual retention system depends on level of chemical consumption.
